KEY POINTS
When you order one of my customised Bell & Howell Filmosound, re-fitted and tonally enhanced amps, it will be built with the same care and attention to detail that you see here. You can be sure of reliability, and I'll back that up with a full 1 year guarantee.
Your 'Filmo' will be carefully re-built using only the best quality components, selected for their particular tonal characteristics and reliability. It will be thoroughly tested, measured and adjusted to give the best possible performance and lowest noise floor. Vintage valves are included wherever possible. I only use 6V6 power tubes that test above 100% emissions to ensure you get the power and tone you deserve. Most of the 'ancient' valves used are by Mullard, Brimar, Sylvania, GEC and National Union. Were talking 50 to 70 year old technology mixed with modern, passive components and current safety standards! I even have it PAT tested so you can take to your next gig.

This is the n'th revision of the circuit and it now has a much lower noise floor, making this a great recording amp for the studio.
For extra versatility, there is now an optional micro-switch (formerly 2 switches) on the back that gives three settings. The centre position gives the amp more headroom, so you can turn the volume up more before breakup. The other two positions give a gain boost with two different flavours. One gives a slightly brighter treble and a slight bass roll off, ideal for darker sounding humbucking pickups. The second boost is more full bodied and helps fatten the tone of single coils. Ouput is loud and around 15 Watts, depending on the valves, how the bias is set and which rectifier is used (5Y3GT or 5Z4). It's a great amp for any studio and can certainly hold its own in a band setting. I've had some great feedback from rock, blues and jazz players resulting in several sales, as well as small small changes / modifications. I have several chassis left and they're getting harder to find, so when they're gone, they're gone! Price is currently £750 for the basic model but this can't be held for much longer, and I have no vents left! You will need a good quality UK to US (220V - 110V) step down transformer in the UK. (not supplied) I recommend at least 150W rating. If you want to ask any questions I am very happy to answer them. Just fire me an e-mail via the Contact page. or go to the Amp Sales page |
